The Andrean Youth Movement (AYM) is still riding on the wave of enthusiasm from the waterfall of events that were organised for the Christmas season, 2017. This enthusiasm was evident for the first official AYM event of 2018—a special youth mass was conducted on 21st January for students appearing for exams in the coming months.

Fr. Reuben Tellis, the Parish Priest of Mt. Carmel Church celebrated the Youth Mass. He is a perfect combination of leader of the youth, motivational speaker, and a member of a band. And it was concelebrated with Fr. Allwyn—St. Andrew’s Church magnet for the youth and confidant. A big shout out to the choir, who made a big difference to the mass. This Youth Mass attracted more than 100 youngsters.

Following the mass, the entire Youth Council gathered, primarily to introduce and initiate new members into the Council. We are blessed to have a large number of (enthu) new members, both from the current confirmation batch and from varied communities across our parish. The meeting included a brief introduction of the activities that the AYM carried out in the past as well as a brainstorming session for future events.

Later, an executive committee meeting was held where the plans for Lent and the new youth room were discussed. With God’s blessings, we will have the new room decorated and ready for the inaugural session by Bishop Allwyn D’silva on the 4th of March.
